Minimum Requirements:

  • Windows XP, Vista or Win7 (Win7 preferred).
  • CPU:
    • In Flight Atom 1.33GHz (1.6GHz preferred).
    • Planning: Atom 1.6GHz preferred.
    • Training with FSX: dual Core i5 or Core i7 with DirectX 9 or better graphics capability.  
  • Memory: 1GB (2GB preferred).
  • Hard Drive: 32 GB (SSD preferred for use in flight).
  • GPS: NMEA compartible, Bluetooth or USB (or Garmin with data cable).
  • IMU (optional) : eGyro
  • FSX (optional) : Gold or Deluxe Editions with SP1 and SP2 installed. Requires dual core CPU and good graphics card to run FSX and Symbolic Flight togther.
  • Sunlight Readability in Flight:
    • Overcast or In Clouds: any PC will doi
    • Night Time: must be dimnable.
    • Full Sun: 300 nits minimum, 1000nits for clarity in all conditions.
    • We recommend Viliv X70 for under $1000, and Motion Computing's J3500 as the perfect solution at $3000.
